Tough weekend for NESTAAN-JMRacing at Uddevalla, Sweden

This weekend's MX2 GP at Uddevalla, Sweden turned out to be one of the toughest this season so far for Nestaan-JMRacing .
Trouble began already during the first 8 laps of race 1, when Joel Roelants suddenly became sick and teammate Jordi Tixier crashed, forcing both riders to retire. Meanwhile young Austrian Pascal Rauchenecker tried to make up for a disastrous start which had thrown him back to 29th spot at the start of the race. At race-end, Pascal had managed to claw back 8 positions and finished 21st.
For Joel Roelants it was "game-over" in Sweden so only Jordi and Pascal lined up at the starting gate for race 2. Jordi lapped the first round in 15th. and held this position for 9 laps. At mid race Jordi moved two positions forward and consolidated 13th position for the remainder of the race. Jordi"s first race DNF and 13th pos. score added up for 17th overall for the weekend.
Pascal Rauchenecker again suffered a bad start in race 2 and had to work his way back coming form 24th. Pascal's race efforts resulted in two positions wins, scoring 22th for the race and 26th overall.
In MX1, Yentel Martens scored 25th and 26th for 29th overall.

Teammanager Jacky Martens comment's;" During last week's training session at the supercross track of Londinieres (F), Joel Roelants has crashed hard which resulted in a suspected concussion. Joel had travelled to Sweden still affected from this crash so we decided to save energy during saturday's qualifier (Joel finished 15th) and if all went well we would go flat out on sunday.
Because Joel was fine on saturday, him suddenly becoming sick and vomiting during race start on sunday came as an unpleasant surprise. Joel was so dizzy and disorientated that it was not possible for him to enter the second race. In fact at this point it is not certain if Joel will enter next week's GP at Teutschental.
As for Jordi I can only say he did a very good job, fighting back to 13th during the second race after he had crashed so hard during the first race.
Pascal and Yentel did not get a decent rhytm at any time during the whole weekend and then you know it's gonna be a real struggle.
All in all we will put Uddevalla behind us as fast as we got there, we are already looking forward towards Teutschental."

DUTCH VERSION / NEDERLANDSTALIGE VERSIE
De MX Grand Prix in Uddevalla, (Zweden) van dit weekeinde is een van de zwaarste gebleken van het seizoen tot nog toe.
Het ging meteen al fout tijdens de eerste 8 ronden van de eerste race toen Joel Roelants plotseling ziek werdt en teammaat Jordi Tixier zwaar crashte. Beide rijders moesten hierdoor opgeven.
Ondertussen was Pascal Rauchenecker onderweg om plaatsen goed te maken voor zijn slechte start waardoor hij als 29e aan de wedstrijd was begonnen. Gedurende de race had Pascal 8 plaatsen teruggewonnen waardoor hij als 21e wist te finishen. Voor Joel Roelants was het "game-over" in Zweden, waardoor alleen Jordi en Pascal achter het starthek plaatsnamen voor de 2e race. Jordi kwam na de eerste ronde op een 15 plaats door en wist daarna nog 2 plaatsen te pakken. Daarna consolideerde hij de 13e plaats tot aan de finish. Jordi's DNF en 13e plaats bleken uiteindelijk goed voor 17e overall.
Pascal Rauchenecker had opnieuw een slechte start te pakken en moest hierdoor in 24e positie aan de wedstrijd beginnen. Uiteindelijk wist hij nog 2 plaatsen goed te maken om als 22e te finishen. Pascal werdt overall 26e in Zweden.
In MX1 wist Yentel Martens beslag te leggen op de 25e en 26e plaats, Yentel werdt 29e overall.

Commentaar van teammanager Jacky Martens;"Joel is afgelopen week tijdens een trainingsessie op de supercrossbaan in Londinieres (F) hard ten val gekomen. Hierdoor heeft hij vermoedelijk een hersenschudding opgelopen. Tijdens de reis naar Zweden was Joel nog steeds aangedaan door deze crash waardoor we besloten om tijdens de zaterdagkwalificatie niet voluit te gaan. Als Joel de qualifier zonder problemen zou doorkomen (Joel finishte als 15e) dan zouden we op zondag terug voluit gaan. Dat Joel een dag later tijdens het begin van de race meteen ziek werdt en moest overgeven kwam als een onaangename verrassing, temeer omdat op zaterdag alles ok leek. Joel was zo duizelig en gedesorienteerd dat het niet mogelijk was om aan de tweede race deel te nemen.
Op dit moment is het zelfs niet zeker of Joel deelneemt aan de GP van Teutschental komend weekeinde.
Wat Jordi betreft kan ik alleen zeggen dat hij uitstekend werk heeft afgeleverd om na die zeer harde crash in de eerste reeks in de herneming nog een 13e plaats te pakken. Pascal en Yentel hadden tijdens het gehele weekeinde geen moment het juiste ritme te pakken, en dan weet je dat het erg moeilijk wordt.
Alles bij elkaar laten we Uddevalla net zo snel achter ons als we er gekomen zijn, we kijken alweer vooruit naar Teutschental".
