By scoring a 5th, 7th and 9th (Tixier, Roelants, Rauchenecker) position during saturday's qualifyer in Fermo (Italy) last weekend, the team made a promising start of the (15th and) last Grand Prix of 2011. At the first race on sunday Joel made a blistering start wich catapulted him to 5th position, setting himself up to take on Butron and Tonus, when in the 3rd lap he bruised his thumb in the whoop-section.
Joel was in total agony but pushed on, hoping that the pain would go away as the race continued. Unfortunatly it got to a point where he could not hold on to the handlebars and had to abondon the race. Due to this inury Joel was not able to enter the second race.
Jordi Tixier finished the first race in 8th after coming back from 11th and holding on to 8th spot for the entire second-half of the race. In the last race of the season Jordi made one of his best starts as he rounded the first lap in 5th and quickly climbed to 4th position. An unfortunate crash two laps later dropped him back to 11th spot but Jordi quickly remounted and finished 10th.
Saving the best for last, it was GP rookie Pascal Rauchenecker who excelled at the very last race by scoring a fantastic 6th position race result. Added with his 11th place in the first race, Pascal scored 6th overall for the event.

Comment from team manager Jacky Martens;"Weather conditions were very hot (35deg.C) so the weekend turned out pretty demanding. Again luck is not on Joel's side. Hopefully he will recover in time before the MXON of next weekend, where Joel is selected to enter the MX2 class for the Belgium. Jordi Tixier did very well. Although the heat and his nerves caused him some stomach ache during the first race, we saw his talent emerge during the second race when he showed he can ride with the world's best. Also Pascal Rauchenecker has grown al lot during the season and simply excelled during the very last race. He has travelled a long way coming from the 125 series to score 6th overall in a GP.
At his moment there are a lot of transfer rumours buzzing. As agreed with my negotiating partners I will launch an official press release after the MXON".

NEDERLANDSTALIGE VERSIE
Met een 5e, 7e en de 9e plaats (Tixier, Roelants, Rauchenecker) tijdens de qualificatie van afgelopen zaterdag maakte het team een veelbelovende start van de laatste GP van 2011 in het Italiaanse Fermo. Tijdens de eerste reeks op zondag lanceerde Joel een bliksemstart waardoor hij direct doorschoof naar de 5e plek, klaar om Butron en Tonus voorbij te gaan in de aanval voor de 3e plaats. Het noodlot sloeg echter toe in de 3e ronde toen hij zijn duim kneusde in de whoop-sectie. Joel verging van de pijn en kon alleen maar hopen dat dit beter zou worden naarmate de wedstrijd zou vorderen. Het kwam echter tot een punt waarop Joel zijn stuur niet meer vast kon houden en hij noodgedwongen moest opgeven. Door deze blessure kwam Joel in tijdens de 2e reeks niet meer aan de start.
Jordi Tixier was de eerste reeks als 11e gestart waarna hij wist op te klimmen tot de 8e plaats. Deze positie hield hij heel de 2e helft van de wedstrijd vast tot aan de finish. In de 2e reeks maakte Jordi een van zijn beste starts van het seizoen door als 5e door te komen en meteen door te stoten naar de 4e plaats. Twee ronden later echter kwam Jordi ten val waardoor hij teruzakte naar de 11e plaats. Gelukkig kon Jordi snel herstarten en alsnog de 10e plaats pakken.
Het best voor laatst bewarend was Pascal Rauchenecker die in de allerlaatste race met een fantastische 6e finishplek zichzelf volledig overtrof. Met hierbij opgeteld zijn 11e plaats van de eerste reeks wist Pascal een mooie 6e plaats overall te pakken.

Commentaar van team manager Jacky Martens;"Het was warm in Fermo (35gr.C) en daarmee was het behoorlijk veeleisend voor de rijders. Opnieuw had Joel het geluk niet aan zijn zijde. Hopelijk is hij op tijd hersteld voor de Motorcross der Naties van komend weekeinde. Joel is geselecteerd om België te representeren in de MX2 klasse.
Jordi Tixier heeft fantastisch werk geleverd. Hoewel de hitte en de zenuwen hem maagklachten opleverden tijdens de eerste reeks, liet hij zijn potentieel zien tijdens de tweede reeks door met de besten ter wereld mee over te rijden.
Ook Pascal Rauchenecker is tijdens het seizoen enorm gegroeid en is tijdens de allerlaatste reeksboven zichzelf uitgestegen. Hij heeft een lange weg afgelegd vanaf de 125 Europees tot het scoren van de 6e plaats overall in een GP. Op dit moment draait de transfer geruchtenmolen op volle toeren. Zoals afgesproken met mijn onderhandelingspartners zal ik pas na de Motorcross der naties een persbericht vrijgeven".
