De voorlaatste Grand Prix van het seizoen van afgelopen weekeinde was een terugkeer naar het "old skool" circuit van Gaildorf in Duitsland. Roczen en Cairloi wisten hier de wereldtitlel MX2 en MX1 binnen te halen waardoor de dominantie van KTM in het Europese MX gebeuren wederom wordt gecontinueerd.
Ondertussen leverde Nestaan-JMRacing met een 7e plaats overall voor Joel Roelants opnieuw een bijdrage aan de WK constructeurstitel van KTM. Joel was goed weg tijdens de start van de eerste reeks en wist daarna vanuit 11e positie op te klimmen naar een 8e plaats op de finish, hierbij een kleine voorsprong behoudend op
Nicholls die Joel de hele reeks fanatiek achtervolgde. Joel begon de tweede reeks vanuit 8e positie waarbij hij even later Lupino passeerde en diverse keren stuivertje wisselde met Paulin waarna hij als 7e finishte.
2012 KTM fabrieksteam nieuwkomer Jordi Tixier kwam tijdens de start van de eerste reeks ten val waarna hij vanaf de allerlaatste plaats na een indrukwekkende remonte als 14e wist te finishen.
Tijdens de tweede reeks reed Jordi van start tot finish in 10e positie, hierbij begeleid door Aubin en Butron die 9e en 11e plaats continue bezet hielden. Pascal Rauchenecker liet zich tijdens de eerste reeks opvallend gelden door voorbij van Hoorebeek naar de 9e plaats te rijden en vervolgens het tempo van de top 10 te volgen. De pechduivel sloeg echter toe in de 11e ronde toen Pascal buiten de baan raakte waarbij een stuk afzetting rond het achterwiel draaide. Hierdoor blokkeerde het wiel volledig en moest Pascal de wedstrijd verlaten. Pascal reed daarna een degelijke tweede reeks waarbij vanuit 12e positie uiteindelijk als 14e wist te finishen, hiermee als 18e algemeend eindigend.
In het Europees MX2 kampioenschap ondervond Kenny Vandueren een dramatisch weekeinde. In beide reeksen moest Kenny vanuit de kopgroep (in 4e pos.) na een crash opgeven.
Commentaar van teammanager Jacky Martens; "Het was mooi om terug te keren naar Gaildorf om weer eens op een old-skool hard circuit te racen, net zoals ikzelf jaren geleden deed. Het circuit is erg snel en heeft maar één goed spoor, daarom is het cruciaal om hier goed te starten. Joel heeft zeer goed gereden hier in Gaildorf maar kwam qua topsnelheid nog het iets te kort in vergelijking tot de top 5. Jordi heeft na zijn crash in de eerste reeks niet opgegeven en hij heeft alles uit de kast gereden, meer zat er gewoonweg niet in. Ook Pascal heeft goed gepresteerd en daarbij gezien dat het niet gemakkelijk is om het tempo binnen de top 10 te volgen."

Last weekend's penultimate Grand Prix of the 2011 season was a return to the "old-skool" hard-track at Gaildorf in Germany. With Roczen and Cairoli winning the MX world title in MX2 and MX1 at Gaildorf, KTM continues their reign of the European MX scene. Meanwhile Nestaan-JMracing put in their share of Manufacturer Champoinship points for KTM as Joel Roelants scored a solid 7th overall.
During the first race Joel set off with a solid start and worked his way up from 11th to 8th at the finishline, keeping a narrow lead over Nicholls who persued Joel fanatically for the entire race. Joel started te second race in 8th and after passing Lupino he tossed positions with Paulin for several laps to finish 7th.
2012 KTM factory team newcomer Jordi Tixier crashed during the start of the first race but managed an impressive come-back as he finished in 14th after re-started from dead last. During the second race Jordi was in 10th position from start to finish, sandwiched by Aubin and Butron wo held 9th and 11th all along next to Tixier.
A remarkable performance from Pascal Rauchenecker during the first race when he catapulted in front of van Horebeek, taking in 9th position and keeping up with the guys in the fast lane. Unfortunalty in the 11th lap Pascal went off track while his grabby Dunlop tyre gobbled up some green fencing which blocked his rear wheel, causing a DNF for Pascal. Pascal rode a solid second race in which he started out in 12th to finish 14th for 18th overall for the GP.
In the European MX2 series, Kenny Vandueren had a disastrous weekend as he crashed and DNFed in both races. Both crashes occurred while running with the leading group in 4th position.
Comment from team manager Jacky Martens;" It was good to return to Gaildorf and racing a rock hard track, just like one's I raced in the old days. The track is very fast and with only one ideal line so getting in a good start is crucial. Joel put in some excellent riding during both races but he lacked top speed when compared to the top 5 at Gaildorf. Jordi did not give up after his first race crash and gave all het got so he could not do better than this. Also Pascal put in a good performance as he learned it is not easy to stay on the pace within the top 10".
