Dutch Open MX-1 and MX-2 Halle

By winning two races and the superfinal at Saint Yean´d Angély
this weekend, Yves "Tefli" Demaria dominated this weekend´s
event in the french open Championship-series.
Meanwhile, Sven Breugelmans lined up his 450 at the gate in Halle (NL) for wat was to become a day of mixed emotions. Sven comments;"Halle is a beautiful sandtrack with lots of steep-tabletops and high jumps all fantasticly prepped. I set best time in timepractice and felt confident with my 450F SXS suspension perfecty dialed in by WP. In the first race I cornered 2nd behind Bas Verhoeven on his De Groot Kawasaki.Together we created a gap and I pushed to overtake Bas at several occasions. Halle however is a tough circuit for overtaking and Bas kept the door well locked. At a certain point we started doubling riders which prooved to my disadvantage
forcing me to settle for 2nd. The second race I had an averige start but chose the outer-line in the second corner where I hooked up my KTM in the berm and katapulted ahead of 8 riders in one blast! Again I found myself behind Bas Verhoeven and I noticed he was slower than the first race.I overtook Bas and went flat-out to put as much distance between us in order not to give away my lines of which I noticed where faster than his. This strategy worked and I won the second race in style. Then a official handed me a note wich said I had violated KNMV noise-regulations with 2Db and was fined a 1 minute time- penalty. This meant a setback from 1st to 6th position which cost me my overall victory in Halle. Akrapovic provides us with the best exhausts possible and we never had problems before, not even at the GP´s where standards are even more strict. So this came as a very unpleasant surpise. Still I´m locked in points for the championship-lead together with Manuel Priem. "
In MX-2, Joel Roelants put some pressure on himself as he set best
laptime in free-practice.In timepractice he scored a 5th spot at the
gate. Joel missed the start of the first race and worked his way back
from the back of the pack to 5th at he finish.More fireworks from
Joel the second race as he crashed during the start to remount in
hot persuit of his opponents. An unleashed Joel blitzed back to 4th
spot right behind Verbruggen when he (again!) collided with a doubled rider and crashed. An 8th place result for 5th overall for the
day where Joel´s poor earnings afer his fantastic display of mx-riding.
